The Waren-Verein as a national association represents the interests of foreign and wholesale trade with

  • and related products.
The association's aim is the optimal representation of interests of its members. Above all, the Waren-Verein perceives itself as a service provider. Day to day, the Waren-Verein deals with new EU regulations and national legislation in order to inform its members. To be as quick and up to date as possible the association is in permanent contact with Berlin and Brussels. It offers rapid and convincing solutions for problems, helps with questions of food and customs law and informs thoroughly about trade policy developments.
According to its statutes, the Waren-Verein stands up for worldwide freedom of trade and opposes determinedly discrimination against third countries (non-EU countries) by the European Union.
Its name is explained by traditional and historical reasons. Importers from Hamburg founded the association in order to create an own arbitration court and to fix rules of trade for its branch in written.
